Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov criticized Berlin’s decision to close some Russian diplomatic missions in Germany following the drone incident at Leipzig airport, accusing Germany of heading towards direct confrontation with Russia.
Lavrov’s remarks were published on the Telegram channel of Russia’s state television, Vesti. He said, “Overall, broadly speaking, this is somewhat like the beginning of a real war. I remember that before the outbreak of World War II, the Germans also closed their diplomatic missions in Russia. They want to fight again.”
